Want to share your passion for science?
Want to win great prizes and a trip to the UK?
FameLab the International Competition has come to Libya!
The British Council in partnership with Cheltenham Festivals (United Kingdom) have brought this exciting competition to Libya.
Be part of the competition designed to encourage young scientists, mathematicians, technologists and engineers to inspire and excite the public about science.
FameLab started in the UK and has expanded across Europe and now it is your chance to be part of the very first FameLab Libya.
The winner of FameLab Libya will go on to compete at the FameLab International Grand Finals, held in Cheltenham, United Kingdom in June 2010
What is FameLab?
FameLab encourages young scientists (between 18 to 40 years old) to share their science with the public. Scientists have 3 minutes to share any scientific topic to an adult non-scientific audience. Talks can be in Arabic or English. Talks should be entertaining, enlightening, original AND scientifically accurate. An expert judging panel made up of scientists, presenters, TV or radio personalities will judge who the winners will be!
For more information about FameLab, Please visit: www.famelab.org
What do I have to do?
Present a scientific, engineering or mathematical topic in 3 minutes, in a dynamic, engaging and accurate way. Your presentation should be pitched to a non-scientific adult audience. We accept the use of props (only what you can carry on stage no set up time allowed) but no PowerPoint. Remember this is a live performance and props should represent this.
You must present a talk for your live audition and present a DIFFERENT talk if selected to go through to the semi-finals that afternoon.
Be prepared! Be imaginative!
